Iskustvo Imman Šupić na razmjeni u Sloveniji/My experience from the exchange in Slovenia
Piše: Imman Šupić
Svako putovanje u meni izaziva dozu uzbuđenja i malu dozu straha.

Each trip causes in me a dose of excitement and a small dose of fear. Before leaving for Slovenia, I had many expectations on my mind, from accommodation to people who would be there for the same reason as me. Of course, there was a fear that I would not be able to complete my task there, and that maybe someone else would do it better. However, the trip to Trbovlje was already interesting enough to stop thinking like that. After reaching the Trbovlje Youth Center and settling into our rooms, we met the rest of the participants. The best part about the exchange is that I considered them as “participants” for the first 30 minutes. After that we started exchanging stories, laughing, finding common topics and hobbies … I will never forget the moment from the first night when we all sang and danced together at the „Club“, one room where many friendships were made in 9 days . I never thought I would have the opportunity to meet friends from Greece, Malta or Slovenia, and especially to find myself in one of them. Through this exchange I realized how much support and love I can have by my side every day. All it takes is to meet people, gain new experiences and learn from each one. What I learned during the exchange is that people really don't need to be judged by their covers. We've all heard it countless times, but we rarely follow it. I think until you really feel it on your own skin, you won't even be aware that we all have our own stories and each one is special in its own way. After the exchange and all the information gathered, I became aware of just how much I can do for a better tomorrow, for a better world. I realized how much time I spend on futile things, how much energy I invest in the wrong goals, and my time and my energy can serve something bigger. I thought that clothes can only cover my flaws and insecurities, but I never thought that clothes could make a difference in the world. And not just the clothes, but the food I eat, the junk I throw away, the way I as an individual live. The most interesting fact I learned from the exchange is that by buying fairtrade products, it is not only that I support a higher value of human strength and work, but also help realisation projects in vulnerable local communities, save the world and give money for a quality product. Besides, I learned a lot of other information, met various lifestyles and applied some of them to my daily routine. I am indefinitely grateful to the Bugojno Youth Center for allowing me to go to this exchange, and to the Trbovlje Youth Center for hosting us and for the combination of fun, learning, meeting people and creating unforgettable memories that, I believe, we will always carry with us. The happiness, laughter and love from Trbovlje are beyond the price, and this exchange is just a proof that every effort and work in the end pays off, even when we least hope!
